Flat Pack Packaging Now Uses Less Plastic with New Direct Printing Machine
Menicon Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 21-19, Aoi 3, Naka-ku, Nagoya; Director, President and CEO: Koji Kawaura) announced that Menicon Singapore Pte. Ltd. has introduced a new direct printing machine for Miru 1day Menicon Flat Pack (Flat Pack) production. This machine enables package designs that were previously printed on shrink-wrap packaging to be printed directly on the box.
With this change, shrink-wrap packaging has been discontinued for Flat Pack. By eliminating shrink-wrap film, plastic use in secondary packaging is reduced by 4.5%.1)
This packaging change is part of Menicon Group's broader sustainability efforts in production and packaging.
