Menicon Renames Its Sales Subsidiaries in Malaysia and Indonesia – Promoting Brand Integration and Business Expansion in Southeast Asia –
Menicon Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 21-19, Aoi 3, Naka-ku, Nagoya; Director, President, and CEO: Koji Kawaura) announced the following name changes of the sales subsidiaries in Malaysia and Indonesia: Oculus (M) Sdn. Bhd. to Menicon Vision Care (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., PT Oculus Indonesia to PT Menicon Vision Care (Indonesia).
The purpose of these changes is to clearly emphasize the quality, technical capabilities, and reliability of the Menicon Group in the local market while strengthen the brand presence across Southeast Asia by highlighting the Menicon brand. Furthermore, we aim to strengthen trusting relationships with business partners such as medical institutions, distributors, and local opticians, deepen the partnership, and secure excellent human resources.
With increasing needs for vision correction and demand for colored contact lenses, Malaysian and Indonesian contact lens markets are expected to grow in the future. In both countries, Oculus has established a strong sales network with local distributors, and its color contact lens brand “FreshKon” enjoys high market recognition. Brand integration will facilitate the expansion of our own brand for the overseas market, the “Miru” series*, at full scale by multiplying the strength of the local sales channels that Oculus has built up to date by the corporate brand power of the Menicon Group.
The Menicon Group positions Malaysia Plant as an important production base in the Southeast Asia region. Under an efficient supply system by taking full advantage of the proximity between the production and sales bases, we will strengthen the stable supply to the local market and rapid response to the market.
Going forward, the customer contact points and sales channels cultivated in the color contact lens market will be combined with the supply system starting from Malaysia Plant and the brand power of the Menicon Group. Thus, we will promote the development of a wide range of Vision Care Business including the clear lens segment and further improve the brand presence in the Southeast Asia region.
