The Menicon Logo

Representing Our Consistent Safety, Advanced Technology, and Zeal

01 The Menicon Logo透過

The Menicon logo is circular in shape, representing the cornea and our contact lenses, in the red and green corporate colors.
The red and green are based on the commonly used red/green eye chart.
Passion Red represents the zeal that drives our unique products and our service, while Techno Green signifies the emphasis our advanced technologies place on safety assurance.

The white line in the center represents the Japanese katakana character 'ME' (メ), which means 'eye,' with the hope of helping to provide sight to as many people as possible.

R&D Center

Our top priority is the health and safety of our customers' eyes. The R&D Center was founded in 1995 to integrate our research departments, and our cutting edge research encompasses the following fields.

03 Basic research

Basic research

We are conducting research from molecular design to synthesis and polymerization of raw materials, etc., with the aim of developing next-generation contact lens materials. We aim to apply our advanced research to developing comfortable contact lenses with new functionality. We are also working on future medical treatments.

07 Leading-edge technology supports safety and innovation

Product development

We are dedicated to developing and applying synthesized materials for new lenses. Developing lens materials requires research on safety performance at the gene level, as well as chemical structure and analytical techniques at the molecular level. Our efforts include material analysis and performance evaluations as well as lens prototyping.

04 Clinical evaluations

Clinical evaluations

We work together with doctors at university hospitals and medical institutes worldwide to ensure the safety and corrective effects of our lenses and myopia control. We also examine lens care products and care systems.
