Why Smart Touch™?

When considering contact lenses, the biggest barrier for patients is difficulty handling. The first of its kind, our unique Smart Touch™ technology, means lenses are always removed from the blister the right way up for easier and more hygienic fitting. Data shows that wearers with conventional blisters often struggle with handling, non-wearers often hesitate to start contact lenses as they think it is difficult to apply the lens.

  • 87% of CL wearers with conventional blisters admit they have worn their contacts inside out by mistake1

  • 94% of wearers with conventional blisters say they would like easier handling2

  • 35% of drop-outs were due to  difficulty in handling3

  • 49% of wearers admit they fail to wash their hands before handling their lenses4

Smart Touch™ technology solves these issues

It is a unique technology that not only makes it easier to handle the lens, but also quicker and more hygienic.

The Menicon daily disposable lenses - Miru 1day UpSide and Miru 1day Flat Pack - are provided with Smart Touch™ technology.

The unique smart zone in the case ensures the inner lens surface faces downwards so that the lens can be removed and inserted without touching the inner surface.
