75th Anniversary Key Visual 75th Anniversary Logo
By designating February 8, 1951 as the Founding Day when our founder Kyoichi Tanaka successfully commercialized a corneal contact lens, Menicon now celebrates its 75th anniversary. We have cherished each quarter-century (25-year) milestone since our founding. In anticipation of our 100th year anniversary, we position this 75th year and next quarter century as a pivotal period in which we will create new possibilities and continue to challenge ourselves in this ever-changing global landscape.
Given the increase in the myopic population worldwide, we established the Menicon Malaysia Plant to reinforce our supply capacity and held an opening ceremony on February 5, 2026. This is a crucial new step to strengthen our global production system and provide superior visual correction to our customers around the world, thereby helping facilitate Menicon’s international growth.
Our 75th anniversary project theme is “Winds of Progress.” At Menicon we will create a new standard of ‘Miru (sharing enjoyment and joy through the five senses)’ and pass it on to our 100th anniversary. For our MTMP(medium-term management plan) ‘Vision2030’ we use the slogan “New Vision of ‘Miru’ to the world” Through this anniversary project, we will continue to strive towards the future. Furthermore, refining our founding spirit of Creation, Originality, and Challenge to enhance our efforts to suppress the progression of myopia as a global issue.
Under our corporate slogan “Contributing to society by providing superior visual correction” that we have treasured since its establishment, Menicon will continue to focus on technological innovation, global development, sustainability and will continue to move toward our 100th anniversary while aiming to be a company that enriches the lives of all people.
■ Anniversary Period

■ The Winds of Progress
In Japanese, we often speak of the ‘wind’ as an invisible current that carries creativity, change, and challenge.
As we mark our 75th anniversary, Menicon sets a new wind in motion, one that begins with each individual and grows in strength.
Layer upon layer, the wind gathers momentum, carrying forward and renewing the spirit of Creation, Originality, and Challenge that has defined Menicon since its founding, and carries it toward new horizons around the world.
Looking ahead to our 100th year, driven by this rich and powerful Winds of Progress, Menicon will deliver a new vision of ‘Miru’ to the world.
■ Concept of the 75th Anniversary Logo
The three-arch motif symbolizes the “wind” while also abstracting the form of a contact lens and the cornea. It also expresses Menicon’s stance as a global company expanding its impact around the world. The logo uses three colors featured in the Menicon brand identity: Passion Red, symbolizing passion and innovation; Techno Green, representing safety and sustainability.
Together, these colors create a logo which embodies the strength, flexibility, and stability needed to open a new era.

Winds of Progress toward Our 100th Year — New Vision of “Miru” to the World
We are pleased to celebrate our 75th anniversary in February 2026.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our customers, people engaged in medical care, research, production, distribution, and local community members for their support that they have provided to us for many years.
The spirit of Creation, Originality, and Challenge is the origin of Menicon, through which our founder Kyoichi Tanaka created the first corneal contact lenses in Japan. With this spirit in mind, we will continue to deliver a new vision of “Miru” to the world while squarely tackling the global issue of the rising prevalence and earlier onset of myopia.
The 75th anniversary project theme is “Winds of Progress.” Leading the Winds of Progress that has been blowing since its founding toward our 100th year, Menicon will continue to contribute to society by providing superior visual correction.
■ Renewal of Gallery Menio and its Website
The Gallery Menio, which is located on the 1st floor of Menicon ANNEX, opened in 2012 as a facility to showcase the history of Menicon since its establishment, as well as the works of the founding family who are the source of the spirit of Creation, Originality and Challenge.
This facility follows the journey of Menicon from our start, pioneering contact lens, bringing about widespread adoption within Japan, further development of safety-focused products and services until our global expansion. The facility also provides an opportunity to experience the commitment of the founding family to “manufacturing.”
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary, we have renewed the facility to introduce our corporate activities more clearly. In line with this, we also renewed the website of Gallery Menio with a new design and structure.
