The eyes need a constant supply of oxygen even when wearing contact lenses. In 1979, we introduced Menicon O2, the pioneering oxygen-permeable rigid contact lens. Since then we have developed a succession of products such as the highly oxygen-permeable Menicon EX. In 1997, we launched Menicon Z, a rigid lens boasting world-class oxygen permeability. Menicon Z was approved by the FDA in 2002 for 30 days' continuous wear
